[After Ivan's been taken back to his room in the House of Cards, he loses his composure. Well, he lost it during the trial, but most of that was because of all the blood. He's more or less cleaned up now, though he can't get the stains off of his mask from where his eyes were leaking. At least he can see a bit better, though his vision's still pretty blurry. After all of that, he wasn't expecting to get any visitors. He figured he'd spend his last night crying softly into his pillow and trying to ignore the card guards at his bedside.

Seeing someone approach, he sits up weakly. His words are still gummy and everything tastes like metal.]

H-Hello?

[Ivan hasn't really been paying attention. Ever since they all finished discussing what they'd found, he hasn't known where to go or what to do with himself. So he's been wandering, troubled and lost in thought. It isn't long before he runs into someone.

Like, literally, he runs right into Sheba. Luckily, he really only brushes her shoulder, so she'll probably see it coming and be able to catch herself without stumbling, but he'll twist his feet up and slam down against the ground, groaning and shaken.]

Please, forgive me. I can't believe I was so careless...

[Not knowing where else to go, Ivan ends up in the tea room again. He finds a table far away from the door and puts his head in his hands, trying not to draw attention to himself. But he feels so tired and so sick--Marie had been so upset with what they'd found at the gates to the Red Queen's Timeshare that he hadn't had a chance to really stop and let himself feel as upset as he was over it. He had to be the strong one, and then stay in his right mind afterward to report what they'd found.

Still, he feels like he owes it to the others, somehow, to stay quiet and collected. He didn't really know the victims, so how does he have the right to be saddened? But he keeps thinking about how Ferim and Akira will both be missing from the House of Hearts, and how much more grim it's going to feel to try and sleep with that knowledge. So here he is, stewing.

He barely even hears when someone approaches, and starts to stand without thinking or looking, his head still bowed to his chest.]

Sorry--I have to--

[How can anyone want to be around him? He'll just bring everyone down. He's always being such a burden.]

[Finding that head was the first time he'd spoken with Marie, but the girl had been so distraught at the time that Ivan can't bear the idea of not at least checking up on her. A bit later in the day, once information has been gathered and shared, he'll keep an eye out to see if he can catch her alone. Ivan takes a deep breath before approaching.]

Excuse me. I was hoping...to see how you're doing. Are you feeling any better?

So, Ivan is a mind reader. He can read minds. And ICly, he tends to do this...way more than he should. It doesn't cost him much energy at all to use this ability, so when he wants to learn something (or is in general just curious), he tends to mind read the people around him: both close acquaintances and strangers, without warning or consent.

Naturally, he can be simply asked not to, and he'll try his best to remember to refrain from breaching your character's private thoughts from then onward (because he doesn't like being rude, it's just a really bad habit). However if you really aren't comfortable with Ivan doing this to your character in the first place--or really, really, think it's a bad idea and he should just not do it ever--please let me know here and I'll make sure to remember it.

Personality:  Having lived his young life (as far as he knows and can remember) as the servant to a wealthy man, Ivan's grown into a remarkably well-mannered teenager. He isn't one for loudness or approaching any given scenario rashly. Instead, he prefers to assess the world around him with a calm, quiet thoughtfulness. He generally speaks only when he has something important to say or contribute to a conversation, not usually one to mince words--at least not in serious situations. Ivan is respectful of those around him, and while his sense of self-worth isn't significantly low (beyond what one might expect of a boy who addresses his more-or-less adoptive father as his "Master"), he tends to put the well-being of those around him in front of his own. Although he knew he needed help rescuing Hammet from his kidnappers in Lunpa, he didn't dare ask that of Isaac and Garet, knowing they had their own problems. Likewise, when Ivan saw what peril Babi, the ruler of Tolbi, was in when they found him weak and stranded in a cave outside the city, he was adamant that they help the man--even not knowing who it may or may not have been, at the time--and knowing the cave was littered with monsters and presumably very dangerous.

But, really, a majority of the reason that Ivan tends to act in such a docile manner has to do with the fact that he quite often finds himself confused. Or rather, he's lived a majority--if not all--of his life in a state of varied confusion:  mostly where his own origins are concerned. Not knowing what an Adept was until after meeting Isaac and Garet, Ivan went through life believing he was a freak with "strange powers"  that he couldn't explain. He didn't want to draw undue attention to himself or his Master, and as such tried, for the most part, to keep himself out of trouble. Fortunately, if he didn't broadcast it, most people weren't able to realize when he was greatly invading their personal space through mind reading. He wasn't proud of his power--he didn't understand his power--but he lived with it. Ivan knew it was useful, and that he could harness it for good.

With Isaac and Garet, Ivan truly began to appreciate himself and the things he could do. Though...he is still coming to terms with the idea that he isn't a freak: he's gifted. At this point, being avoided for his peculiar abilities has become so engrained inside of him that by the time Hama explained (some of) where he came from and the prophecy proclaiming him as a hero of Weyard...well, one can't blame him for being a bit overwhelmed and skeptical. Nonetheless, Ivan continues to try to come out of his shell and live up to the these new expectations. In fact, this new-found view can be seen in the way he now wholeheartedly jumps in to help--especially if it means reading minds on a whim. Sure, this sometimes mean making people thoroughly uncomfortable (especially people like Garet, who can sense when he's poking around at their inner thoughts), but Ivan always does it with the best of intentions. Or, at least, he likes to think so. Sometimes, he simply feels it's much easier and more efficient to answer his questions in that manner. Don't ask for permission, ask for forgiveness, right? And, knowing his habit is a bit of a rude one when he gets caught, Ivan won't hesitate to ask for forgiveness when he crosses any lines.

Above all else, Ivan has more than proven his loyalty: both to his friends, his Master, as well his own morals. He didn't question Hammet when he ordered Ivan to stay behind in Vault to find the Shaman's Rod--even though it left him with no means of returning back to Kalay. He's stuck by Isaac and Garet (and eventually Mia, as well) and made their quest his own quest, even though it meant he had to put off being reunited with his Master. And ultimately, discovering that Hammett wasn't released from Lunpa after the random placed on him was paid, vowed to go save him. Ivan always, always follows his heart: if he believes he needs to do something, he'll do it without fail, even if it takes awhile or obstacles crop up and sideline him for an indefinite period.

Abilities: Ivan is a Jupiter Adept, making him part of the Wind Seer class series. At his canon point, he is leveled 20 and carries 6 Jupiter Djinn. When they are all set to him, he is classified as a Magister. He was also told that he has the power of perceiving the future dormant inside of him--but has yet to figure out how to tap into said power. Aside from that, his known powers at the time of being transported to the Tower are as follows:
